Our city – our responsibility
In principle, this goes without saying: rubbish should be disposed of in the bins provided for that purpose, and bulky waste should not be left on the pavement without prior registration. Unfortunately, not everyone sees it that way. We clear away rubbish and illegally dumped bulky waste as quickly as possible, but we cannot always get to the site straight away.
As concerned residents of Frankfurt, you can help us when we are not on site. At the same time, by getting involved, you are sending a clear message: our city will become a more beautiful and attractive place to live if we all do our bit.
Here’s how it works in 3 steps

the right way to get involved Think about how you’d like to get involved: on a regular basis as a clean-up volunteer, or by joining others on a community clean-up day. - Simply sign

involved Once you’ve registered, you’re ready to go: you’ll be helping to make Frankfurt cleaner bit by bit and becoming part of an initiative that makes a visible difference.
1. For those with ongoing commitment: Become a good angel
As a guardian angel of your city, you regularly take care of a section of road or square of your choice. It is also possible to look after a green space. You can dispose of smaller amounts of waste yourself and on your own responsibility. However, where there is already some waste, more can easily be added. For larger deposits, such as bulky waste that has not been reported for collection, simply inform us by email or telephone.
We will support you with advice and assistance in this "sponsorship". We will provide you with bin bags, litter pickers and gloves and will always ensure that you have a supply. A designated contact person is available to answer any questions or resolve any problems.
As a good angel, you naturally determine the size of the area and the extent of your commitment yourself.

Set a good example and inspire your fellow citizens to take even better care of our environment. Help raise awareness of the city's appearance. Perhaps you can even recruit other committed citizens to join you in your efforts!
2. For everyone with initiative in the group: the citizens' collection day
Perhaps a certain district or location in Frankfurt is particularly close to your heart? A playground, a vacant lot, or a piece of nature that you would like to make cleaner and thus more beautiful? Take the initiative to clean up in a group, and we will support you. Everyone can participate: clubs, schools, interested citizens, or engaged neighbors.
We provide you with litter pickers, garbage bags, and gloves. We also take care of environmentally friendly disposal afterwards. In the case of green areas such as parks, playgrounds, or city forests, we ask you to contact the Grünflächenamt: gruenflaechenamt@stadt-frankfurt.de or stadtforst@stadt-frankfurt.de. However, you can receive the necessary materials from us in any case.
With our support, well over 100 citizen collection days take place annually throughout Frankfurt, initiated by very different groups. The effect: After the actions, everyone feels better. Because they have done something together for their district. And because the places that were cleaned do not get littered again so quickly.
