The collection of hazardous substances
Hazardous substances are substances that are harmful to humans, animals or the environment.
These include cleaning agents, acids and paint residues, for example.
Hazardous substances must not be disposed of in any waste bin.
Hazardous substances must be taken to our hazardous waste collection vehicle.
You can find out where the hazardous waste collection vehicle is located on this website:

Disposal of small electrical appliances
Small electrical appliances must not be thrown into any rubbish bin when they are broken.
These include, for example, hairdryers, electric toothbrushes, MP3 players and toasters. Harmful
substances can be removed from this waste and destroyed at high temperatures.
Valuable materials can be extracted from this waste and used to make other electrical components.
This is also known as recycling.
It is pronounced 'ree-kay-ling'.
This is good for the environment.
For collection, it is important that batteries and accumulators are removed from the devices beforehand.
You can drop off batteries and accumulators at many stores and at our recycling centers.
The small electrical devices can be dropped off at our recycling centers.
Or you can bring them to our collection mobile.
It is located in a different district of the city each day.
You can see its location on this website:
