Career changers are very welcome
14 women and men begin their qualification as driver/loaders at FES
The qualification starting today lasts 12 months and is divided into four competency modules, of which at least three must be successfully completed. If this is the case, the participants receive the offer of a permanent position as a driver/loader at FES Frankfurter Entsorgungs- und Service GmbH or one of its subsidiaries.
The program has existed for almost 14 years and is aimed in particular at young adults between the ages of 20 and 30 who would like to change their career path or who need more support than is possible in a traditional apprenticeship.
FES Managing Director Benjamin Scheffler sees the qualification program as an opportunity to completely reorient one’s career. “Not everything always runs smoothly in life. At FES, we believe in second chances. Anyone who wants to get involved can achieve a lot here.”
The 14 new participants would like to change their career paths. Some have already completed training as bricklayers or in retail, have worked in nursing, or have gained other professional experience.
Ali Lamjahdi knows exactly how the participants feel on their first day. He successfully completed his qualification at the end of February and has now started his permanent position as a driver/loader at FES. He previously worked as an IT systems electronics technician: first in Morocco and, since 2023, in Germany.
For Ali Lamjahdi, the career change feels good: “I didn’t want to work in an office all the time anymore; I wanted to be more active. When I heard about the qualification program at FES, I applied immediately. I quickly received an invitation for an interview, and just one week later I got the acceptance.”
Ali Lamjahdi understands that the new participants are not only a little excited but also nervous on their first day. “You have to learn, but the new colleagues will manage it. It’s worth persevering; it’s a good job. I see my future here.”
Graduates of the qualification program who have successfully completed all four competency modules have the opportunity, after three years of practical experience as a driver/loader, to register for the final examination at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. After passing this examination, they receive their certificate for a completed vocational training as a professional driver for freight transport.
The FES qualification program starts every year in March and September and is just one of many opportunities for professional reorientation and further development. Further information: Externer Link zu FES Job Portal | FES Careers
