New Look for a Serious Reason

No day goes by without a fire starting in a waste facility or garbage truck in Frankfurt due to the improper disposal of batteries and accumulators. This endangers people and machines. 

To not only raise awareness among citizens but also to bring about urgently needed change, FES relies on drastic images.  

FES Managing Director Dirk Remmert says: "Anyone who thinks that a single electric toothbrush or power bank won't cause a serious incident is mistaken. Day after day, fires break out in garbage trucks and waste facilities. It's clear: anyone who throws their batteries or accumulators into household waste is endangering lives, and nobody today can claim they didn’t know.” 

22 FES garbage trucks will feature two different designs showing firefighters extinguishing a burning garbage truck. The slogans read: “That could have been your electric toothbrush.” or “That could have been your e-cigarette.” 

Batteries and accumulators can be conveniently disposed of via retailers, Externer Link zu FES recycling centers or mobile FES collection points.
